The student experience at ICAD
Experience it all at ICAD! Learn about the latest in dementia research, network with the world's leading Alzheimer experts and meet other students like yourself – all during the course of one conference.
Tips for first-timers
ICAD will feature thousands of researchers, poster presentations and oral sessions, in addition to hundreds of premier plenary and symposia speakers. With so many people to meet – and so much to choose from – your first time at ICAD can be a bit of a whirlwind.
We suggest following these tips to get the most out of your conference experience:
- Attend our session for first-time attendees. Alzheimer's Association staff and program planners will provide an introductory overview of the meeting agenda, session details, logistics and other helpful information. You'll get answers to your questions and an opportunity to meet other first-time attendees.
- Take it day-by-day. Looking at the full conference schedule can seem overwhelming. When you register, you will receive "day books" – the full program broken down into a day-by-day schedule. Each morning, pull out your day book and choose the sessions you want to be sure to visit.
- Visit the Exhibit Hall and poster sessions. Put time aside each afternoon to check out the Exhibit Hall and nearby poster sessions. This is unique opportunity to come face-to-face with your peers and share new ideas in a dynamic setting.
- Casual conversation can lead to something more. Make sure to attend one of ICAD's social networking opportunities. You never know who you might have the opportunity to speak with, opening up future doors for collaboration or employment.
