Children under the age of 18 are not permitted in any area of the conference center including educational sessions, registration, welcome reception, or the exhibit hall floor during show hours, installation or dismantling. Child care is not available at the Conference & Exhibition Center; however, your hotel concierge may be able to assist you.

AAIC 5K Fun Run/Walk
Tuesday, July 16, 2013 – 6-7 a.m.
Join your colleagues for a 5K run/walk around beautiful Boston. See the sights and stretch your legs before sessions begin! Sign up for the run during registration. The top finishers in both the male and female categories will receive free registration to AAIC 2014.

Registration category definitions

Please review the following definitions to determine which registration category you should select for AAIC 2013.

Member – The Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Research and Treatment (ISTAART) is a professional society for individuals interested in Alzheimer’s and dementia science. All members must be in good standing at the time of registration for AAIC 2013 in order in order to receive member rates.

Non-Member – Anyone who is not an ISTAART member. Note: Non-Members who join ISTAART must wait 48-72 hours prior to registering at the member rate.

Full Conference – Includes Welcome Reception on Sunday, July 14; access to the Exhibit Hall; and sessions within the Social, Behavioral and Care Research and Practice Track; (Monday-Tuesday). The Full Conference fee does not include any preconferences; (Alzheimer’s Imaging Consortium Preconference, Primary Care Preconference, Anesthesiology PIA Symposium, Technology and Dementia Preconference) or access to the Dementia Care @ AAIC program.

One Day – Includes sessions and events on the day of registration only.

Social, Behavioral and Care Research and Practice Track – This two-day conference track (Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 16, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.) will focus on social, behavioral and care research and practice. Attendees may choose to attend this track only for a special rate.

Student Member – An attendee who has joined ISTAART and is working toward an undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degree or a postdoctoral fellow in the scientific field related to the cause and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder. Student identification status is required when registering. All student members must be in good standing at the time of registration in order to receive member rates.

Student Non-Member – A student working toward an undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degree or a postdoctoral fellow in the scientific field related to the cause and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder. Student identification status is required when registering.

Guest – A guest is 18 years of age and is a non-scientific family member or a guest of a scientist. Guest registration fee includes admission to the Exhibit Hall and Welcome Reception. AAIC sessions and preconferences are not included.

Group of 10 or more – Great for Exhibitors and sponsors! To qualify for this category, you must be part of a group of 10 or more people who are not students and belong to the same company or organization. Group must register at the same time to receive the discount.

Group Student – Five or more students must work in the same lab to qualify. Group must register at the same time to receive discount. Valid student identification will be required when registering.

Preconference events

Alzheimer’s Imaging Consortium (AIC) Preconference – This is an additional event held on Saturday, July 13, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. that is open to all attendees. The AIC focuses on the clinical applications and methodological development of neuroimaging (MRI, PET, SPECT, CT and others) to Alzheimer’s disease, other dementias and normal brain aging. Admission to the Alzheimer’s Imaging Consortium Preconference is not included with the Full Conference fee.

Primary Care Preconference – A one-day preconference on Saturday, July 13, 8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. that will cover research, including new diagnostic criteria; early identification of Alzheimer’s disease; ongoing care management and other topics. Admission to the Primary Care Preconference is not included with Full Conference fee.

Anesthesiology PIA Symposium: Perioperative Management of Cognition – A special preconference presented by the ISTAART Anesthesiology and Alzheimer’s PIA on Saturday, July 13, 8 a.m.-3:45 p.m. This symposium will focus on the role of anesthesiologists in the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and anesthesia in the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. The Anesthesiology PIA Symposium is not included with the Full Conference fee.

Technology and Dementia (formerly ETAC) - This additional event held on Saturday, July 13, 8 a.m.–4:15 p.m., is open to all attendees. Technology and Dementia brings together researchers in the technological field working to improve the standard of living for those all those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Research projects that utilize mobile technology, home-based technology and social networking to positively impact care and support for individuals with dementia as well as the care partner will be featured. Session topics include Diagnosis, Monitoring, Therapeutic Approaches, Assistance and a panel on Future Directions. Technology and Dementia is not included with the Full Conference registration fee.

Dementia Care @ AAIC

Dementia Care @ AAIC – A one-day program presented in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter on Wednesday, July 17. This international multidisciplinary program on dementia care will answer the demand for a global forum to discuss research results that impact the field

Social, Behavioral and Care Research Track

AAIC 2013 will offer a conference track focused on Social Behavioral Research. This special two-day track features sessions and speakers on Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 16. All of the information included in the track has been carefully selected to broaden and deepen the knowledge of those interested in area of the Alzheimer’s and dementia field.

Continuing education

AAIC 2013 Continuing Education (CE) – Continuing Education credits are available for physicians and psychologists.

Cancellations and refunds

The deadline for refund requests (must be written or emailed) is June 7, 2013. To obtain a refund, a receipt copy of your registration is required for the cancellation request to be processed. After June 7, 2013, there will be no refunds issued for cancellations of any type, including no shows. All refunds will be less a $100 administrative fee.
