The Alzheimer's Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter provides trainings and education to families, caregivers, professionals and general audiences on a variety of topics in most settings. The following programs are available:
General Overview of Alzheimer’s disease - One hour programs designed to give families basic information on Alzheimer's disease and related symptoms.
Who should attend: Any and all families and individuals who want to learn more about the stated topic.
Maintain Your Brain - One hour program designed to educate about Alzheimer’s disease and what you can do today to live a brain healthy lifestyle.
Who should attend: caregivers, general audiences, baby boomers and professionals.
Opportunity for Communication - One hour program designed for caregivers to learn how 'behaviors" can become an "opportunity for communication". Learn communication techniques and how to identify when a peson with Alzheimer's disease is communicating a "need".
Caregiver Stress & Overview of Alzheimer’s disease - One hour program designed for caregivers to learn about Alzheimer’s disease and how to identify stress and manage everyday caregiving.
Who should attend: anyone who is a caregiver of an individual with Alzheimer’s disease.
Safety Issues and Alzheimer’s disease – One hour program to discuss safety issues and steps to take to ensure safety in the home or care setting.
Who should attend: anyone who is a caregiver of an individual with Alzheimer’s disease.
Ask the Experts - a two hour program with informative presentations from various professionals in our community. Dates are pre-scheduled. Call for details.
