New Telephone Support Group for Caregivers
Recognizing that many people who care for and support persons with dementia can not leave their loved ones to attend one of of many support groups, the Mid South Chapter is now offering a toll free telephone support group. Made possible by a grant from the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability, the telephone support group will be available on the fourth Monday of each month from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Each call is free and confidential; the operator will ask what town you are calling from and your relationship to the person you support (i.e. spouse, daughter, etc) but not your name.
You can give and get support from others having the same challenges

If you have Alzheimer's - Early stage support groups
What is it?
A support group for persons in the early stages of Alzheimer's or other dementias. A support group is offered for people with the diagnoses, while a separate group is available for their family members.Who can participate?
Persons with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's or related dementia who are aware of the diagnosis.What will we do?
Learn about the causes of memory changes. Learn ways to adapt to these changes. Identify a personal plan of action. Learn about resources for you and your family.Who are the facilitators?
A gerontologist and a professional counselor.How often will we meet?
