501(c)(3) Registered Charity

The Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It is eligible to receive contributions deductible as charitable donations for federal income tax purposes. Allocation of Expenses

The Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter is fiscally conservative in its allocation of donor dollars. According to the BBB Wise Giving Alliance (www.give.org), a nonprofit organization should spend at least 65 percent of its total expenses on program activities, with the remaining funds supporting administrative and fundraising expenses. In fiscal year 2009 (ended June 30, 2009), the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter spent 77% of its expenses on program services.
