The Alzheimer’s Association of Western and Central Washington State is pleased to announce our Corporate Sponsor of the Month program. Each month, we’ll recognize one or two outstanding partners on our Web site, showcasing their philanthropy and Association giving history. Thanks to sponsors like KING 5, we’re able to fund important Alzheimer’s research, continue our outreach, programs and support services, and connect Washington state residents to our cause through exceptional fundraising events.
Thank you and congratulations to KING 5 Television, our Corporate Sponsor of the Month!
The Alzheimer’s Association and KING 5 have formed a strong relationship over the last several years. Through supporting Association events like Memory Walk, An Evening to Remember, and Tasteful Evening, KING 5 has proven to be a valuable advocate and partner. Additionally, Brad Goode, KING 5 News Anchor, serves as an Alzheimer’s Association Board Member, and many other KING 5 employees have donated their time, talents and enthusiasm to the Alzheimer’s cause.
KING 5 Anchor Brad Goode has donated media coverage and PSA commercials for Memory Walk over the last few years. Because of this vital media support, the Alzheimer’s Association is able to raise awareness and reach out to families who may need our help. Each year, Brad is joined by the staff of KING 5 to form their very own Memory Walk Team and in 2008, KING 5 was recognized as the Top Fundraising Corporate Team. Over the last five years, their team has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Memory Walk and the Alzheimer’s Association.
In addition to the support provided by their corporate Memory Walk team, KING 5 participates in our annual An Evening to Remember gala and auction every March at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. KING 5 Anchors Brad Goode and Joyce Taylor act as MCs at the event, rallying support for our cause. Each year, KING 5 also supports our gala as a sponsor.
Tasteful Evening, the Association’s annual celebrity chef dinner, has been hosted over the last few years by Brad Goode. Brad’s involvement with all of our events stems from his personal passion for ending Alzheimer’s disease. Brad generously donates his time and talents to entertain our guests through the evening. He even acts as our auctioneer! His upbeat personality and great talent is appreciated and enjoyed by each guest every year.
KING 5 has a long-standing tradition of supporting our community. Through exceptional leadership, outstanding public involvement, and dedicated giving, each staff member is able to make a visible difference in the lives of thousands of local residents. The Alzheimer’s Association staff looks forward to working with KING 5 in the coming years. KING 5’s partnership is invaluable to the success and growth of Alzheimer’s Association community outreach events and advocacy programs.
