â€¢ Execute overall plan for Walk to End Alzheimer's in the territories as assigned to include team captain/walker recruitment and retention; sponsor cultivation and solicitation; promotion and marketing activities; and all event logistics.
â€¢ Execute overall plan for other events as assigned; sponsor cultivation and solicitation; promotion and marketing activities; and all event logistics.
â€¢ Prepare and distribute communications to volunteers and donors - via email, print and telephone - coordinating with the National Association's communications timeline and additional needs.
â€¢ Recruit, develop and manage volunteers to plan and implement the walks and other events as assigned.
â€¢ Meet and communicate regularly with the Executive Director and other staff to share updates, assess progress and coordinate centralized tasks.
â€¢ Prepare reports and provide information as requested and required; oversee project budgets and maintain financial records for events.
â€¢ Provide support to overall operations of events as assigned including the specified Walk locations to include: customer service to constituents; database mining and management; donor/sponsor/advocate relations and communications; management of vendor relations; etc.
â€¢ BA or BS degree or business/sales or related field.
â€¢ Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience, including proven success in sales/fundraising.
â€¢ Excellent proven interpersonal and leadership skills.
â€¢ Ability to train, manage, guide, motivate colleagues and volunteers to achieve objectives. â€¢ Ability to plan and work independently.
â€¢ Superior organizational and communication skills.
â€¢ Excellent computer skills.
â€¢ Working as a member of a team, the Event Coordinator is an enthusiastic, organized, self-motivated person who will oversee all aspects of events as assigned from start to finish.
â€¢ This person must be able to recruit, manage and partner directly with volunteers and colleagues to meet aggressive participant and sponsorship recruitment and fundraising goals.
â€¢ Candidate must be able to exercise excellent judgment, accept responsibility, and give careful attention to details.
â€¢ Must be skilled in multiple software programs and be willing to learn and excel in donor software systems.
â€¢ Excellent oral and written communications with the ability to present with poise, confidence and professionalism to diverse committees.
â€¢ Be able to work under stress and be flexible where there are high expectations for meeting tight deadlines and for producing work that is accurate.
â€¢ Willingness to "pitch in" to get the job done when required.
â€¢ Must develop working knowledge about Alzheimer's disease and its impact on families and caregivers.
â€¢ Must be a team player.
â€¢ Some night and weekend travel required.
