Walk Manager

General Summary

Under the direction of the VP of Development, the Walk Manager is responsible for the overall Walk event's strategy and budget. The Walk Manager coordinates and manages all Walk events in the Treasure Coast and Palm Beach regions as part of the annual revenue goal. This position provides support to volunteers who recruit and cultivate walk teams. The Walk Manager is responsible for training and providing direction to the Outreach Team for team recruitment and cultivation. The Walk Manager is responsible for the budgeting process, the implementation of best practices, monitoring and evaluating events performance, executing chapter wide event marketing strategies, soliciting regional corporate sponsorship, and producing chapter-wide Walk collateral. In collaboration with the Outreach team and Volunteer Manager, the Walk Manager is responsible for cultivating relationships with select corporations to secure corporate funding and support to help build the donor and volunteer bases and enhance public awareness.

Essential Job Functions

Essential Job Functions Leads, organizes and manages the Chapter's Walk to End Alzheimer's Event(s). Recruit, develop and manage volunteers to plan and implement Walk; committee must include volunteers to manage logistical, mission, team recruitment and sponsorship to exceed goals. Work in partnership with colleagues who oversee team recruitment and sponsorship to solicit and cultivate past and new teams and sponsors. Evaluate each Walk and make recommendations for future Walks. Serve as a liaison with National by communicating regularly and providing timely reports and attending Walk conferences as scheduled.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements BA or BS degree in business/sales or related field Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience Excellent proven interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to train, manage, guide, motivate colleagues and volunteers to achieve objectives Ability to plan and work independently Superior organizational and communication skills Excellent computer skills Working as a member of a team, the Walk Manager is an enthusiastic, organized, self-motivated person who will oversee all aspects of Walk from start to finish. This person must be able to recruit, manage, and partner directly with volunteers and colleagues to meet aggressive participant and sponsorship recruitment and fundraising goals. Candidate must be able to exercise excellent judgment, accept responsibility, and give careful attention to details.
