Senior Specialist, Walk

General Summary

The National Office located in Downtown Chicago is seeking an individual for the Senior Specialist of Walk to End Alzheimer's is part of a hands-on training team who works directly with chapters to implement best practices to increase awareness and revenue for the Association's signature event.  Activities include chapter staff and volunteer training and consulting, development of tools and resources and implementation of the Walk strategic plan.

We seek an individual with experience in walk events and training.  This individual should be a gifted communicator and able to work in a team environment.

Essential Job Functions

·            As part of the Walk team, identify best practices and develop curriculum and training program to be implemented to Chapter staff and volunteers.

·            Participate in Walk to End Alzheimer's Chapter support and provide face to face and remote consulting and implementation to support Walk growth for Chapters.

·            As part of the Walk team, coordinate and execute conferences and manage monthly training program

·            Manage Walk tools and resources as well as identify new resources

·            Engage in consistent and regular communication with Chapter Walk managers

Minimum Requirements

·   Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations and/or marketing, or related field

·   3+ years of event and volunteer management/training experience, preferably with events utilizing significant volunteers;

·   3+ years of volunteer and staff training in related areas

·   Superior organization, communications, analytical and logistics skills

·   Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and social networking tools

·   Ability to travel up to 40% of time as required.
