Associate Director, Database Management

General Summary

The National Office located in downtown Chicago is seeking an individual for Associate Director of Database Management.  This individual is responsible for partnering with multi-disciplined teams in implementing and supporting shared fundraising solutions throughout the Association.  Activities include: Development of donor/client quality assurance processes and procedures as well as financial and gift entry and develop and implement business analytical.

We seek an individual with experience in database management systems, quality assurance, reporting and analysis, and to work in a team environment.

Essential Job Functions

  •  Support systems data pulls, data analysis requests and data investigation.  Assist with writing the queries to generate data files, reports and interactions and format and export files.
  • Participate in projects that involve creation of business flow, code set up, report set up, documentation, data editing and integration.  Develop complete and accurate business requirements.  Develop and deploy any test plans, project plans and training needed to ensure business requirements and user acceptance has been met.
  • Provide query and reporting support.  Set up and deliver new data requests and weekly chapter reports for financial reconciliation and batch processing.  
  • Provide application support to assist users in resolving technical support issues and investigate business requirement questions and end user functionality.  Provide Helpdesk support as needed.
  • Export and import data files daily (including weekends) ensuring that results meet work order specifications and delivery is on time.
  • Use advanced SQL query and P/L SQL skills to develop queries and procedures that answer business questions and resolve data integrity issues.  Troubleshoot data processing issues and perform data fixes to maintain data integrity
  • Set up administrative processes and document procedures.  Includes upload logs, documenting production operations and maintaining vendor information.  Update ftp site information as well as documentation of queries and regular scheduled production items. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  •  Knowledge of relational Oracle databases and the ability to understand and compose Oracle SQL queries.  Experience with PL/SQL programming.
  • Five years experience in data management systems operations, supporting primary organization applications. 
  • Knowledge of UNIX commands. 
  • Experience with Team Approach or other fundraising applications and/or CRM systems.
