Director, Corporate Initiatives

General Summary

The National Office located in downtown Chicago is seeking an individual for the Director of Corporate Initiatives. This position will develop strategy and manage relationships to sell, close, and nurture strategic nationwide relationships with targeted nationwide companies to generate mission, revenue, and business development opportunities for the Alzheimer's Association. The Director will develop relationships that include corporations' marketing, human resources, foundations and business development departments.

This individual should have excellent leadership skills to manage a "sales team" and understand relationship building with corporations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Working with high-level corporate and Department and Chapter staff, lead the development of nationwide sales and relationship strategy for multiple industry relationships.
  • Manage portfolio of prospects and active accounts.  Includes full life cycle development and implementation.
  • Secure major corporate contributions, national Walk to End Alzheimer's team program members, sponsorships, employee payroll deduction opportunities, mission programs, high-level corporate volunteers, and other products.
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned corporations and coordinate account activities collaboratively across Chapter boundaries and across departments to achieve goals.  Communicate activities in a consistent, proactive, and inclusive manner.

  • Build relationships with senior-level decision makers at corporate headquarters to represent Alzheimer's Association strategic interests in mission delivery, mission support, and volunteer recruitment.

Minimum Requirements

  •          Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.

  •          Five to seven years account management experience and a proven track record of sales in a relationship-selling environment.  

  •          Proven experience managing and leading a "sales team"
  •          Must be able to think strategically and execute plans to completion.
  •          Must have experience in cultivating relationships with corporate executives.   

  •          Excellent creative problem solving, customer service, communications, presentation and interpersonal skills.  

  •          Ability to lead and motivate, especially with staff in a different reporting relationship.
  •          Ability to work as part of a team.          
  •         Computer literate and ability/willingness to travel.
