Walk to End Alzheimer's Manager

General Summary

The Walk to End Alzheimer's Manager is responsible for the development, oversight, execution and monitoring of a comprehensive Walk to End Alzheimer's event plan. Directly responsible for WTEAs in Peoria, IL Valley, Tazewell County, and Rock River. Oversees WTEAs in Quincy, McDonough County, Canton and Knox-Warren counties. Supervises the Wak to End Alzheimer's Coordinator.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and execute chapter-wide Strategic Implementation Plan for Walk to End Alzheimer's

  • Chapter-wide management of WTEA teams using Walk Central resources, fulfillment and incentive programs

  • Work directly with WTEA committees to recruit, train and steward volunteers

  • Establish on-going relationships with top team captains in all WTEAs

  • Completes weekly, monthly, and annual WTEA analysis for the chapter

  • Develop, manage and implement Board approved chapter WTEA budget

  • Attend Chapter Development meetings and works with development team on Chapter events

  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in business, marketing, communications or other related field
  • Experience with volunteer management

  • Ability to network and build relationships with diverse group of constituents

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in event planning

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Valid driver's license and automobile


  • Ability to work effectively with volunteers, staff and external contacts to build and maintain successful teams

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in multiple locations

  • Ability to anticipate, identify, organize and analyze growth opportunities

  • Ability to coach and develop volunteers

  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and electronically to a variety of audiences

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations

  • Ability to analyze information and make timely, appropriate decisions

  • High level of integrity, diplomacy and initiative

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

  • Ability to travel as needed to perform job duties

  • Ability to operate designated office equipment

  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds of equipment and supplies
