The National Office located in downtown Chicago is seeking an individual for the IT Services Senior Specialist position. This individual will work in collaboration with the Chapters to manage and enhance IT services provided to both the National Office and Chapters. The IT Services Engineer will be a member of the National Office IT Infrastructure Team that is responsible for chapter infrastructure components, such as email, help desk, data network, voice network, servers, and workstations, managed by the National Office.
Essential Job Functions
Provide friendly and timely Level 2-3 support / customer service to our end-users with IT requests and questions.
Plan, design, install, configure, administer and optimizes basic server operating systems such as Windows Server, VMWare, and related components based on established priorities.
Plan, design, install, configure, administer and optimize remote branch office network infrastructures, such as Meraki routers, switches and access points, as well as other network devices
Plan, coordinate and utilize management tools to monitor, assist, deploy software and manage remote branch office servers, workstations and notebooks to achieve a robust, highly available, and secure infrastructure with tools such as Kaseya.
Assist in the design, planning and implementation of new infrastructure components or changes to existing infrastructure configurations.
Work on tasks and projects independently or as part of a team and diligently completes assigned tasks or projects with minimum supervision.
Share knowledge and cross-train other infrastructure staff.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree with relevant course work in computer science, programming, or information systems and 3 years of related experience as a system administrator; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience and with at least the last 2 years focused on providing technical support across a broad range of Microsoft technologies including; moves/adds/changes within Active Directory (AD), file servers, and Google Apps. ProPalms, VMware vSphere and basic Meraki and Cisco network experience is desirable. Using Management tools such as Kaseya is desired
Requires the ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve moderately complex problems, has some latitude for independent judgment, ability to work under general direction, and possess effective communication skills. Decisions have moderate to significant impact on the organization.
Position requires the ability to provide on-call support twenty-four hours a day seven days a week, as needed. There is potential for traveling to chapter offices when the support cannot be done remotely. The traveling will be planned and scheduled in conjunction with our staff and chapter's availability, unless it is a critical emergency.
