Technical Assistant, Transactional Accounting

General Summary

The Technical Assistant-Transactional Accounting is a member of the Alzheimer's Association Financial Operations team, which handles all the Association's financial and transactional accounting matters.

Essential Job Functions

This position is responsible for various special projects assigned by the Associate Director of Transactional Accounting.  Day to day activities involve preparing the daily scanning of checks to Northern Trust Bank and weekly deposit of cash delivered to the bank by Dunbar Armored; opening, sorting and distributing all unidentified mail received by the Association; processing parking vouchers requests and assisting accounts payable during peak periods with data entry of invoices. S/he will also maintain department files and records for all disbursements paid by the Association.

The Technical Assistant-Transactional Accounting must be able to prioritize their work and ensure the quality and timeliness of their work, as well as develop/refine procedures.

Minimum Requirements

- Associate's Degree in Accounting or related discipline
- Two years of experience in accounts payable
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, as well as strong organization skills
- Experience in Microsoft Windows environment with advanced knowledge of Excel, and working knowledge of Word
- High level of accuracy in work and strong attention to detail, as well as a strong work ethic
