Director, Chapter Operations

General Summary

Provide leadership and direction to transitioning and existing National Chapters in the delivery of the mission to stakeholders. Ensure that all National Chapter staff focus on the timely and effective implementation and execution of the priority activities of the nation-wide strategic plan. This includes:
-    Staff performance management and development
-    Volunteer development and management
-    Revenue development consistent with Association-wide strategies with an emphasis on Walk to End Alzheimer's
-    Implementation of the Common Program Plan
-    Exiting strategies for programs and services not aligned with strategic plan
-    Research and Advocacy initiatives

Essential Job Functions

  • Work with Chapter Relations leadership on chapter transitions to National. 
    National Chapter Staff Management
  • Provide leadership to National Chapter Operations staff in the following areas:
    -Community outreach
    -Building coalitions with other groups
    -Increasing the Association's visibility in the community
    -Increasing fundraising capacity
    -Linking and dissemination of programs and services
  • Revenues
    -Growing participation in the Walk to End Alzheimer's and other fundraising events
    -Ensure Walk Best Practices are adhered to
    -Advise and provide direction on third party ventures and other revenue opportunities
  • Volunteer Engagement
    -Assist Chapter staff in assembling and fully utilizing volunteer councils
    -Provide guidance and structure for development of high level volunteer committees that will help drive mission and revenue growth
  • Budget Management
    -Ensure that the chapter budgets are in line with expectations
    -Oversight to the creation of the annual expense and revenue budget for the National Chapters
    -Analyze revenue and expenses to identify trends that could lead to cost efficiencies, to ensure correct coding, and to identify gaps/areas for improvement in expense or revenue management.
    -Oversight of Walk to End Alzheimer's management reports and weekly forecasts

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, public administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in a national not-for-profit health organization with field (chapter/affiliate) experience.
  • Previous managerial experience.
  • Budget management experience.
