Director, Emerging Initiatives/Other Constituent Events

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide leadership in planning, implementing and evaluating constituent events, including The Longest Day, Blondes vs. Brunettes and Conde Nast partnership to achieve revenue goals.
  • Develop a comprehensive strategic and implementation plan for The Longest Day event that incorporates appropriate staff and volunteer stakeholders across the enterprise to rapidly expand the event's revenue and participants, domestically and internationally.
  • Lead staff team to create appropriate tools, training and resources for staff and volunteers to build capacity across the organization to optimize revenue and constituent satisfaction.
  • Pro-actively engage appropriate National and chapter staff to build capacity for rapid expansion of revenue.
  • Develop community volunteer engagement model.
  • Manage organizational process for receiving, evaluating and recommending third party partner revenue opportunities for the organization.
  • Provide ongoing data/trend analysis and revenue projections for appropriate stakeholders.
  • Develop, manage and monitor expense budget for area of oversight.
  • Work in collaboration with marketing department to develop The Longest Day advertising campaign to match target audience needs to impact achievement of goals and objectives.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five to seven years management experience in non-profit mass market special events fundraising for nationwide, regional and local events.
  • Leadership experience in a non-profit, fundraising, volunteer, community organization.
  • Prior collaborative integrated planning experience.
  • Expertise in building capacity through volunteer recruitment and engagement.
  • Previous experience managing professional staff.
  • Previous experience developing revenue goals.
  • Previous experience developing and managing expense budgets.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • Ability to work with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, donors and volunteers
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems
  • Ability to provide technical explanations in non-technical terms
  • Ability to work from multiple job site location
  • Strong initiative and leadership skills
  • Ability to build alliances with appropriate stakeholders to achieve organizational goals and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environment with multiple priorities
  • Expertise in project management
