The Community Outreach Specialist will provide support to all fundraising activities in the Greater Wisconsin territory to meet revenue goals, and will help increase concern and awareness through outreach efforts including community presentations and delivery of basic educational programs.
This position is located in LaCrosse, WI.
Essential Job Functions
Serve as lead on Walk to End Alzheimer's planning committees in designated service territory and assist in marketing and development within the Region.
Work with Development and Marketing Director with the planning and implementation of all fundraising events, with special emphasis on Walk to End Alzheimer's, to include team captain/walker recruitment and retention; sponsor cultivation and solicitation; promotion and marketing activities; and all event logistics.
Work with Program Director to market full mission of the organization (ie. HELPLINE, care consulting, educational programs, medic alert safe return, and support groups) in designated outreach territory.
Develop collaborative initiatives in education, awareness and support with other organizations.
Actively recruit, train, and support volunteers to carry out priority activities in support of the full mission in the Region.

Assist in promotion and communication of Advocacy and Public Policy initiatives throughout the state.
Review and monitor revenue accounting and reporting systems in a timely manner.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work experience.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in public relations, communications, sales and/or marketing, event planning, volunteer management, non-profit and/or health related areas.
Strong background and interest in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
Excellent public speaking and interpersonal communication skills, with demonstrated experience in providing educational and informational presentations.
Significant experience in fundraising, fund management, fiscal management and budgeting.
Must be able to work independently, manage several projects simultaneously and be able to meet required deadlines.
Knowledge of non-profit organizations and demonstrated experience in networking with volunteers, collaborating community agencies and providers.
Understanding of volunteer recruitment and management.
Must possess demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft computer programs.
