Job Summary:


The Associate Director, Marketing, supports the Director, Marketing & Branding and the entire organization through implementation and project management of consumer campaigns, advertising, and mass market events.

This position is based in: Chicago

Expected Travel: Up to 20%

Essential Job Functions

  • In collaboration with the Director, Marketing & Branding, internal stakeholders and outside agencies, implements year-round advertising plan and measurement for the national office to increase concern & awareness of Alzheimer's disease and the Alzheimer's Association.
  • Serves as lead project manager and creative director for nationwide consumer campaigns to increase concern & awareness and drive constituent engagement including fundraising, advocacy action, and participation in mission activities of the Alzheimer's Association.
  • Provides support and guidance to field staff in order to increase nationwide marketing efforts and constituent engagement. 
  • Identifies new or expanded products/services to improve Association     marketing position. Effectiveness measured by qualitative evaluation of cooperation and synergy, as well as quantitative measures of marketing program.         
                                     

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience in advertising management in business or organization with multiple products or business lines and multiple locations, such as a franchise organization.
  • Experience in advertising (strategy, creative or media) and at least some elements of integrated marketing program.
  • Experience in account management in marketing or advertising firm, with some understanding of
      o    Market research
      o    Advertising strategy and creative
      o    Media planning and buying for national and local media
  • Very collaborative and team-oriented.
  • Works effectively across groups through respect, knowledge and ability to persuade and influence
  • Highly strategic and creative, while still detail oriented
  • Clear thinker and communicator
  • Familiar with qualitative and quantitative evaluation of marketing and advertising
  • Knowledge of e-commerce and related revenue-generating opportunities
  • Experience in product development and/or new product introduction

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or a related field.
  • 3-4 years marketing position in a corporation, healthcare or consumer goods organization, or agency.
  • 2-3 years experience in advertising strategy and creative development and media planning for consumers.
  • 2-3 years experience in conducting or commissioning market research to define and segment target audiences.
  • Experience in product management, including positioning, distribution and sales, in business with multiple products.
  • Account management experience desirable.
  • Presentation and sales or new business development experience desirable.
  • Must have the ability to travel on Association business as needed.
  • Multicultural marketing expereince
