Sr. Associate Director, Major Gifts - MA. NH, & CT

General Summary

The Alzheimer's Association National Office is looking for a dynamic, experienced professional to cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned gifts from individuals and families in the east region of the United States, specifically covering Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut.  This Boston based full-time position will work strategically with key stakeholders across the Association to build high-level donor relationships aimed at six-seven figure+ giving from this geographic area.

Essential Job Functions

  • Participate in and remain accountable for, setting goals and strategies to meet revenue objectives for this territory.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of 100-125 qualified major gift donors / prospects.
  • Work with key colleagues and leaders within the Association - locally and nationally -to develop and advance these donor relationships in this designated area.  Develop relationships in a holistic and strategic manner.  Must understand the importance of collaborating at all levels.
  • Achieve major and planned gift revenue and activity metrics while building the portfolio (emphasis on outright giving)
  • Must have strong communication and relationship building skills with ability to work effectively and easily with  national and chapter leadership, multiple colleagues, and board members.to develop and drive donor strategies, visits, solicitations and stewardship.
  • Adhere to professionalism and fundraising best practices as demonstrated by moves management industry standards and donor-centered methodology.
  • Contribute to the national major gift team as we continue to build and expand major and principal gifts across the Alzheimer's Association.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.  CFRE or advanced degree a plus.
  • 5-7 years minimum required experience in major gift fundraising.
  • Deep understanding of the major gift development process with the experience and maturity to manage and drive the process to meet and exceed strategic goals.
  • Mature, sophisticated professional who understands the importance of working smartly internally as well as externally.  Demonstrated success in producing outcomes- most importantly successful solicitations of major gifts at the six and seven figure level.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of leadership, both staff and volunteer.
  • Excellent, persuasive, and diplomatic communicator - in person, over the phone, and in writing. 
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to analyze data and information to drive strategic development of portfolio. 
  • Must be available for evening and weekend work as required and able to travel as needed.
