Technical Assistant, Public Relations

General Summary

Provide day-to-day administrative support to Public Relations team. Triage incoming and general constituent inquiries and follow-up to basic questions/requests.  Monitor media daily for mentions of the Alzheimer's Association (both national and local), specific initiatives and campaigns. Provide reports on news media coverage for assigned projects. Maintain various media and spokesperson databases, support large-scale projects such as conventions, communications campaigns and events. Conduct research and media follow-up as needed.

Essential Job Functions

• Conduct daily media monitoring. 
• Develop and maintain various databases
• Triage incoming media and general constituent inquires
• Triage incoming media and general constituent inquires
• Conduct research via Google, Lexis Nexis, library on projects as needed
• Assist with event coordination

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma, College graduate; with journalism, communications or public relations degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Excellent writing/communications skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Previous administrative of support staff experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software - Excel, Microsoft Word
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
