The Alzheimer's Association is the world's leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research. The East Central Iowa Chapter is one of a nationwide network of affiliated Chapters and serves 19 counties throughout East Central Iowa with offices located in Cedar Rapids and Cedar Falls. |
| Essential Job Functions |
Coordinator Community Engagement supports individuals and their families affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias through information and referral related services and through educational workshops. The position educates and supports the public by creating informational opportunities through health fairs, community presentations and outreach activities to increase concern for disease and awareness of the Alzheimer's Association and its programs and services. Also responsible for logistical planning, implementation and successful outcome of Walk to End Alzheimer's in Northeast Iowa. |
| Minimum Requirements |
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor Degree in related field and 2 years relevant work and/or volunteer experience. Candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication, computer and internet usage skills with demonstrated special event and fundraising experience. Public speaking is a function of the position and the candidate should have knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and other related dementia's. The full-time position, based in Cedar Falls, requires travel plus occasional evening and weekend hours. Qualified candidates should respond by email only. Must include cover letter and resume. |
