One of the greatest challenges physicians face is responding to the older patient with memory loss who fears he or she has Alzheimer’s disease. Early detection of memory loss or cognitive impairment offers many benefits for people with dementia, their families and for you, as physicians.

When clinicians ask How do I assess for cognitive impairment? we now have published recommendations that can be freely distributed during your outreach activities. The recommendations were developed by a group of experts convened by the Association. Additionally, tools highlighted in the publication are accessible through alz.org/physicians.
