This May, “The Alzheimer’s Project,” HBO's multi-platform series that examines groundbreaking Alzheimer discoveries made by the country’s leading scientists and the effects this debilitating and fatal disease has on those with Alzheimer’s and their families.

 “The Memory Loss Tapes”

“The Memory Loss Tapes” takes an intimate look at seven individuals living with Alzheimer’s, seeking to introduce a new understanding by sharing the devastating experience of memory loss from the point of view of the person with the disease.

“Grandpa, Do You Know Who I Am? With Maria Shriver” and “Momentum in Science, Part 1”

“Grandpa, Do You Know Who I Am? With Maria Shriver” is a is geared toward children and young teens coping with a grandparent’s illness, and presents vignettes that can help a child understand and deal with a relative’s gradual decline into Alzheimer’s.

Momentum in Science” is a two-part, state-of-science odyssey that takes viewers inside the laboratories and clinics of 25 leading physicians, revealing some of the most cutting-edge Alzheimer research advances.

Caregivers” and “Momentum in Science, Part 2”

“Caregivers” is a collection of five family portraits that illustrate caring for the different stages of Alzheimer’s disease. The evening concludes with “Momentum in Science, Part 2.”

25th Annual Central Coast Wine Classic:  The Central Coast Alzheimer’s Association will receive proceeds from  the Annual Fund-A-Need Lot to provide respite care.  Last year this auction raised almost $90,000 for the new Heart Care Facility at French Hospital in San Luis Obispo.  Tickets are available for this top charity wine auction of America which is a major benefit for the San Luis Obispo tourism industry.  Activities include a Barrel tasting, a Reserve Tasting, various symposia on specific wine types,  Cooking Demonstration, Winery Dinner, a Black-tie Dinner at Hearst Castle, and the exciting Rare & Fine Wine & Lifestyle Auction from around the world.  A full schedule of activities can be viewed at:  www.centralcoastwineclassic.org or call:  805-544-1285.  Volunteers are needed for this event and we also encourage you to attend the event.

   
     

Ideas for events you can host to raise funds on your

Here are several easy steps to take if you want to host a fundraising event to benefit the California Central Coast Chapter!

  1. Select the type of event you want to have (check out the ideas below)

  2. Contact the Chapter office nearest you for a fundraising kit that includes a third-party event proposal form (California Central Coast Chapter must pre-approve all third-party events benefiting the Chapter). Download Third-Party Event Proposal and Budget Form

  3. Host your event

  4. Submit your event report with the proceeds of your event (photos are always welcome)
