WE CAN HELP


Support groups

Come listen, share and learn from others who understand what you are going through. We have support groups for early stage Alzheimer's and groups for caregivers. Groups meet at a various times and locations. They are free and confidential

Available 24 hours a day--7 days a week, with knowledgeable and experienced staff waiting to assist you with all your care needs and concerns. You can also reach us at cwkshelpline@alz.org.

Local resources

Need information about local adult day care, care facilities or eldercare lawyers? Our staff can direct you toward services that meet the needs of a person with Alzheimer's and their caregiver.

   

Care Consultation

Get help navigating the difficult decisions and uncertainties faced by people with Alzheimer's and their families. Provided via telephone, email or in-person appointment.

   

Peer to Peer

Do you have dementia? Are you a caregiver? Have you lost someone to the disease? Whatever your situation, we have a peer support volunteer who's been there waiting to talk to you. Our peer support volunteers are real people who are going through the same challenges you are, and can lend you an understanding ear when you need it.

   
Roth Project

The Roth Project

Bring music to your loved one with the help of personalized iPods. The Roth Project: Music Memories is a unique iPod based music program presented by the Alzheimer’s Association of Central and Western Kansas, which helps individuals and families suffering from the effects of dementia to decrease the instance of difficult behaviors, connect with loved ones at any stage of the disease, improve communication and cognition, and increase overall quality of life. The program is offered to interested individuals at little or no cost. Call the helpline at 800-272-3900 for additional information.

   

 

Education programs

Attend an education program and learn more about the basics of Alzheimer's, caregiving, working with your doctor, brain health and more. We offer several programs for families, individuals facing Alzheimer's and the public. Most of these programs are free of charge.
