Alzheimer’s Association offers free onsite care consultations in seven counties
In its 30th year of operation, the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Ohio Chapter continues to advance its services by providing free onsite care consultations in seven of the fourteen counties it serves. These onsite consultations are taking place in Madison, Pickaway, Union, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette and Franklin counties.
Through care consultations, clinicians help individuals and families living with Alzheimer’s disease by linking them with community resources, creating a long-term plan, and offering caregiver education and support.
Consultations in Franklin County are being provided in partnership with LifeCare Alliance. The collaboration helps the Alzheimer’s Association reach into those areas of the community it has not had much success reaching on its own.
The Central Ohio Chapter’s onsite care consultations as well as its educational programming and support groups are funded by the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging, Union County Senior Services, the Council of Older Adults, Franklin County Senior Options and individual donations.
“The impact of caring for someone with Alzheimer’s and other dementia pose special challenges and many caregivers report their health is fair or poor,” said Michelle Chippas Executive Director & CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Ohio Chapter. “As we commemorate our 30th anniversary, we want to extend our reach and provide the support and resources needed by caregivers.”
