Multicultural Outreach Coordinator
The Alzheimer's Association seeks an experienced social worker for our Multicultural Outreach Coordinator position. The coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of dementia education programs and support services for African-American, Hispanic and Asian communities in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong knowledge base in dementia and caregiving issues, and experience in the aging network serving diverse populations. Experience with program marketing and community outreach is a plus.
Some specific job duties include:

Forge and maintain relationships with key community leaders, businesses and organizations to identify and support the needs of minority elders

Organize educational outreach to churches, senior centers, physician practices, health clinics and community service providers to identify and refer elders with cognitive deficits to education and support programs

Review existing educational curricula and support programming for relevancy to the dementia care needs of the target populations

Facilitate the formation of caregiver support groups specific to the needs of the target populations

Conduct family care consultation meetings with affected families in under-served communities

Participate as a member of the Helpline Information & Referral team

Serve as staff liaison to the Multicultural Advisory Council and recruit volunteers to assist with outreach efforts in diverse communities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with current Ohio license required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in dementia care required.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
Full time position, 32 hours per week, with benefits.
