The Longest Day Raises Awareness and Funds

Hundreds of local residents participated in The Longest Day on Sunday, June 21. Teams conducted a variety of sunrise to sunset activities, including cooking, bowling, playing bridge, photography, golfing and hiking. With donations still coming in, the 29 local teams helped to raise more than $42,000 in support of Alzheimer's research.

Nationally, more than 2,200 teams participated in The Longest Day, a sunrise-to-sunset event to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. Thousands spent the longest day of the year doing what they enjoy to help end Alzheimer's.

The Alzheimer's Association of Greater Cincinnati thanks everyone who participated in this year's event as well as generous corporate sponsors, including: Keating Muething & Klekamp, PLL, Spring Grove Family, Structured Innovations, Biomet, Inc., The Kenwood by Senior Star and Q Laboratories.

It's never too early to begin plans for The Longest Day 2016. Contact Layne Haas at or visit: for more information on The Longest Day.
