Kristine Yaffe, MD

Kristine Yaffe, MD, is Vice-Chair of Clinical and Translational Research in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco as well as the Chief of Geriatric Psychiatry and Director of the Memory Disorders Clinic at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. Dr. Yaffe will be speaking on modifiable risk factors for cognitive aging that could have a significant impact on public health.

Up to half of all Alzheimer's disease cases could be due to factors which include cognitive and physical activity, sleep quality, cardiovascular risk factors and depression. Dr. Yaffe will present compelling evidence for the role of chronic disease and lifestyle risk factors of interest. In addition, she will discuss the possible implications of these latest findings for healthy cognitive aging and the promising next steps for the future of dementia prevention.
