Our volunteers are an integral part of our operation, without which our functionality would be greatly compromised. Whether you can dedicate only a few hours a week or can be more involved, we look forward to speaking with you about the opportunities we have available. It is because of the commitment of our volunteers that each day we take one step closer to a “world without Alzheimer’s.”

Health Fair /Community Event Volunteer

Assist in setting up/breaking down and staffing booths at local community centers, malls, hospitals, etc.
Skills Needed: Must be able to answer general questions about Alzheimer’s disease to the general public. Must enjoy social contact with large groups.

Helpline Volunteer

Answers and makes follow-up calls to caregivers to check on status of their caregiver needs, documents contacts and responses, sends out letters, and mails out information packets.
Skills Needed: Must be able to answer general questions about Alzheimer’s disease and be familiar with community resources. Friendly and outgoing personality a must.

Walk to End Alzheimer's Volunteer

Assists in the execution of our largest fundraiser of the year by facilitating registration, distributing information and materials, helping with set-up and/or clean-up, and assembling attendee handouts. Assist with publicity, fundraising, logistics, and sponsorships.
Skills Needed: Familiar with community and local businesses. Must feel comfortable asking for donations or contributions from businesses and local communities. 

Office Volunteer

Assists with making phone calls, faxing, assembling information packets, labeling, data entry, and other general office tasks that are vital to our success.
Skills Needed: Must have computer and typing skills.

Speaker’s Bureau Volunteer

Offers presentations to community groups in our area, providing a general overview of Alzheimer's disease using our materials and training.
Skills Needed: Must have knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease along with good public speaking skills.

Special Events Volunteer


Assists in the execution of our social and educational programs by facilitating registration, distributing information and materials, helping with set-up and/or clean-up, and assembling attendee handouts. Assist with publicity, fundraising, logistics, and sponsorships.
Skills Needed: Familiar with community and local businesses. Be able to ask for donations or contributions from businesses and local communities.

Support Group Volunteer

Facilitates monthly meetings for local caregivers. Arranges periodic speakers to discuss pressing topics. The leader must maintain the confidentiality of group participants as the highest priority.
Skills Needed: Must be able to answer general questions about Alzheimer’s disease and be familiar with community resources. Good communication skills, able to facilitate appropriate discussion within a group and maintain control of the dialogue. Able to direct family to appropriate resources and to the Chapter for further assistance.

Join a Committee

We are constantly looking for committee volunteers to help us plan our many events throughout the year. Committee positions include: Chair, Co-Chair, Logistics Chair, Marketing and Outreach Chair, Mission Chair, Sponsorship Chair, and Team Recruitment Chair. Skills Needed: Familiar with community and local businesses. Must be able to answer general questions about Alzheimer’s disease and be familiar with community resources. Committed individual with friendly and outgoing personality a must.
