| Blue Poppy Fantasy by June Gilfellan |
This year’s Alzheimer’s Association Memories in the Making® Art Show and Auction provides patrons with a unique opportunity to support an important cause while enjoying memories shared by people with Alzheimer’s disease and expressed through watercolor.
This very special evening benefits the Alzheimer’s Association and provides guests with insight into this disease as stories unfold in watercolor that might otherwise go untold.
Our signature art piece is entitled “Blue Poppy” and was painted by June Gilfellan.
Early in the evening guests have an opportunity to view and bid on pieces of artwork created by people with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias as well as that of professional local artists. There are items available in the silent auction as well as later in the live portion. The auction includes pairings, which means that a professional piece of art is paired with an Alzheimer’s painting that has a similar or related subject. The two works will be auctioned together as a pair.
The silent art auction includes art palettes painted by local professional artists. Similar to the Mask Project in variety, these palettes vary from soft, whimsical nature scenes to contemporary bold designs and three-dimensional creations. This is an opportunity to expand your horizons and meet exciting new as well as established artists. The palettes offer the opportunity to start collecting the work of a favorite artist at an affordable price. Collect one or two a year and start a palette collection.
Tickets
Tickets are $50 per person. All proceeds benefit the Alzheimer's Association.
