National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month
Text Size controls Normal font sizeMedium font sizeLarge font size PrintEmail
November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month and Governor Ritter has also proclaimed this month for the state of Colorado. In addition, we’ll be celebrating Family Caregivers Month.

Please join us for a number of special events and recognition throughout the state. Our fourth annual Multicultural Education Forum will be held each Monday night in November, special screenings of the HBO documentary The Alzheimer’s Project are being held in our regional office locations and a very special Caregiver Pampering Day is being held to help ease the responsibilities shouldered by those who care for loved ones living with Alzheimer’s disease. Watch for Denver’s City and County Building to turn purple once again, banners will hang throughout downtown and Alzheimer’s disease will be the focus of 9News Call Center on November 19 with our volunteers on hand to answer calls.

Caregiver Stress Check, a first-of-its-kind, interactive quiz that helps caregivers identify their symptoms of stress and provides them with a tailored list of helpful referrals and resources.

In addition there are two new videos for caregivers and people with dementia:

  1. Understanding Alzheimer’s: An introductory guide for people with dementia and their caregivers
