DIY Fundraising Ideas

There are many ways to raise money in support of the Alzheimer's Association. Use one of the ideas below, or create a unique event of your own. Be sure to share your success story with us!

A Well-Seasoned Kitchen
Lee Clayton Roper and her mother Sally Clayton created a unique treasury of ideas, menus and best-loved meals for all cooks who cherish creating opportunities to nourish relationships with family and friends. Written as her mother began to experience the early stages of memory loss, Lee published A Well-Seasoned Kitchen after her mother’s death. Click here to read more and order your very own copy. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. Click here to learn more and order a copy of the book.

Birthday Party Fundraiser

Joann Tram and her friends hosted a birthday party in recognition of National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month with food, drinks, entertainment and fashion. The cost at the door was $20 and a portion of the proceeds were donated to the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado.

Host A Silent Auction

For three years Jan Murdoch and her husband, Dr. Rick Murdoch, have held a silent auction in their home to raise money for their Walk to End Alzheimer's team. With the donation of more than 100 auction items including gift baskets, restaurant gift cards and sports tickets, the event which featured live entertainment, an Italian buffet and cocktails, has raised as much as $15,000!

Share At Your Wedding

Attending or planning a wedding this summer? Make a donation instead of bringing a gift. This can be in honor of the bride and groom or in memory of someone special to them.

  • Use our online tribute tool to create your own special donation Web page.
  • Link to it from your other wedding Web sites.
  • In place of wedding favors, make a donation in honor of your guests. Let them know of your donation by using our scroll template.
  • Donate your flowers to a memory care unit at a local nursing home.
  • Incorporate a service project into your shower or engagement party – volunteer at a local nursing home or make memory books.
