- to raise awareness of the Alzheimer’s Association across the state;
- to identify new prospects and convert them into life-long donors; and

The Young Professionals Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado (YPAAC) Events
YPAAC was established in 2006 to work in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Association of Colorado to raise awareness among local young professionals. In addition to networking happy hours, YPAAC holds three events annually, beginning New Year’s Day with the Polar Plunge at Boulder Reservoir. This fundraising event encourages participants to “Freeze the day for Alzheimer’s” by jumping into the icy cold waters of Boulder Reservoir to support the work of the Association and research to find a cure. Every spring YPAAC selects an assisted living facility in the Denver Metro area and spends time “sprucing up” the gardens. Finally, in June, YPAAC hosts the Blondes vs Brunettes flag football game in Denver. The game is based on the age old rivalry of blondes versus brunettes, and sponsors and coaches as well as players raise money for the cause. All proceeds benefit the Association.
