This full-day conference is designed for both professionals and family caregivers. The aim is to share the best practices and creative interventions for the care, treatment and preservation of the quality of life of persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

MORNING KEYNOTE
Laurel Coleman, MD, a geriatric physician practicing in Augusta,
Maine, serves on the National Board of the Alzheimer’s Association,
and is active in the Maine chapter of the Association. She
speaks to various audiences around the country on aging issues
and Alzheimer’s disease.
Dr. Coleman, whose areas of interest include Alzheimer’s disease
and end-of-life care, currently serves as the Medical Director for
Beacon Hospice in Maine. She also works in the Geriatric Evaluation
Clinic at Maine Medical Center.
Dr. Coleman completed her medical school and internal medicine
residency at the University of California at San Francisco and a
geriatric fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
There are over 20 education workshops available to select from.

Application has been submitted to the CT Nurse’s Association for the approval of continuing education credit (contact hours). C.N.A is accredited as an approver of nursing continuing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Social Workers
Application has been submitted of this program to be approved for Continuing Education Credit hours by the National Association of Social Workers, CT. If approved, this program will meet the continuing education criteria for Social Work Licensure renewal.
Physicians
Application has been submitted for this program to be approved for Continuing Medical Education credits. The Jewish Home for the Elderly is accredited by the State of Connecticut as an intrastate sponsor of continuing education.

No refunds will be made for cancellations received after March 21, 2008. No refunds will be given for no-shows.

A block of rooms have been reserved at the Crowne Plaza, Cromwell, CT. Reservations will be accepted based on availability. Reservation for the event will be accepted based on availability and must be made by individual guests directly with the Crowne Plaza Hartford – Cromwell by Monday, March 3, 2008.

Hotel rates
Single occupancy is $104 per night and double occupancy $104, plus applicable state and local taxes (currently 12%) in effect at the time of check in. Check-in time is 3 p.m. and checkout is noon.
