About Memory Walk
The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk,® nationally presented by Genworth Financial, is our national signature event and brings together family, friends, caregivers and concerned community members who all want to make a difference. Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $200 million to help those battling Alzheimer's disease.
The Central and Western Virginia Chapter has raised over $675,00 Since 1996, with 2004 being our most successful Memory Walk ever, raising over $275,000. Every dollar raised stays in the local chapter area to support, educate, and improve the lives of people with Alzheimer's disease, their families and caregivers.
Nine Memory Walks throughout our Chapter area will be held between September and October. Thousands of men, women, and children will participate as walkers, volunteers, and sponsors this year! Participants walk as individualsor as part of a team. Walkers will ask friends, family, business associates, and others to sponsor them by making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
