Behaviors and the Person with Dementia

2 CEUs for Administrators and Social Workers. Nursing accepts Social Worker CEUs.

One of the most trying times comes when the person living with dementia is trying to communicate with us and, for whatever reason, we aren't receiving the message. This usually results in events that have been deemed as "difficult behaviors".  If we really take a look at this phenomenon, we see that it is a lack of communication that is at the  root of the problem.  This training helps the caregiver, whether professional or family caregiver, to start to understand what is happening, why it is happening and how to better understand and react to the situation at hand.

Since this is one of the most asked-for topics, we have arranged for us to offer this 2-hour  Inservice in 4 different parts of our 9-county area, on 4 different days.  This training is developed for professionals and their staff, however, any family member that would like to attend need only register.  All are welcome!

Cost for this training is $40 for those wishing CEUs and $15 for all others.

Trainings are offered at 1 pm as follows:

August 4th - Miami County YMCA, 3060 S. County Road 25A, Troy, OH

August 14th - Hampton Inn, 1600 Hampton Court, Sidney, Oh

August 18th - Grace Lutheran Church, 1801 St. Paris Pike, Springfield, OH

August 20th - Victor J. Cassano Health Center, 165 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd., Dayton, OH

To register, please contact Velma Barber at velma.barber@alz.org or call  291-3332.
