Our First Steps program

Engage in an education series designed to help new care partners prepare for issues faced now and in the future.
Cost is $5 per person per session.  Sessions may include the following. 

Basics of Alzheimer's provides information about Alzheimer's disease, Multi-Infarct disease and many other related dementias and includes information about  diagnosis, treatment and stages.

Legal & Financial Issues gives an overview of legal and financial issues families face and an understanding of why early planning is essential. Day-to-Day Caregiving offers tips about communication, activities, home safety and managing unique behaviors.

Community Resources & Caring for the Caregiver includes resource information about home care, adult day services, assisted living, nursing home care and hospice and more.


First Steps by County

The First Steps Education programs are offered different times a year throughout the nine county service area including Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan, Miami, Montgomery (North & South), Preble, and Shelby counties. Call 800.2723900 for more details.
