1st Annual Art Walk

To celebrate their one year "in the soup", the Art of Soup hosted their 1st Annual Art Walk to benefit the Alzheimer's Association on April 7, 2009.  Located in the heart of Sheridan Square, The Art of Soup featured arwork of well known Valley artists, including Jenna Raskin's "heARTworks" and Laurha Frankfort's sensuous line drawings calling on the healing powers of color and Qi Gong.  A portion of the proceeds from all artwork sold at the event benefited the Alzheimer's Association.  In addition, there were numerous raffle prizes including a drawing for an Obama heARTwork with all proceeds going to the charity.  Thank you to all who came out and helped make this a wonderul event.

Join the Alzheimer's Associaition Desert Southwest Chapter for a benefit night at Ben & Jerry's - Glendale.  Whether it's Cherry Garcia, Chunky Monkey or plain Vanilla, come enjoy your favorite flavor while making a difference.  20% of profits from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm will be donated to the Association!

Birdies for Charities

The Desert Southwest Chapter participated in the 2009 FBR Open "Birdies for Charities" that held January 26 - February 1, 2009.  Thank you to all who donated to the Associaton. Your generosity will have a direct impact on the lives of those we serve.  Please check back for information on next years "Birdies for Charities" event.

Changing Hands Bookstore

Marie Fostino, author of "Alzheimer's:  A Caretakers Journal"  will be selling and autographing her book at Changing Hands Bookstore on Saturday, October 17, 2009.  All proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk.

Grand Follies "Music, Music, Music"

The Follies Show returns to Sun City Grand to benefit the Alzheimer's Association Desert Southwest Chapter. This was a big hit last year and the ladies and their gents will again entertain you with song and dance. The show will feature current and former Ms. Senior Arizona's as well as the former Ms. Senior New York. The show is sponsored by the Grand Pickleball Club and Jean McCurdy. All proceeds will go to benefit the programs and services of the Alzheimer's Association Desert Southwest Chapter.

Rock Bottom Brewery - Beer Tap Celebration of Memory Walk 2009

Let's Kick Off the 2009 Memory Walk Weekend! Come on down to the Rock Bottom Brewery and enjoy a party to raise money for Memory Walk and kick off our 2009 Walk Weekend in style! The 2009 Memory Walk Beer Tap Celebration is the fun and fantastic way to show your support for the mission and work of the Alzheimer's Association!

The event is free -- no cover charge! Plus, we will have a number of fun food activities to satisfy your palette.
