About the Medical-Scientific Advisory Committee

Welcome to the Desert Southwest Chapter's Medical-Scientific Advisory Committee.   The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. The Medical-Scientific Advisory Committee is designed to enhance the Desert Southwest Chapter's capacity to build greater awareness
of and support for research to end Alzheimer's disease in Arizona and Southern Nevada.


The objectives of our MED-SAC include:

• Promoting clinical and other research pertaining to Alzheimer’s disease that is occurring in our communities.
• Informing the community of the partnership between the Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest Chapter and individual scientific institutions.
• Educating local primary care physicians about the latest advances in Alzheimer’s care and research.
