Elmcrest Tennis Pro-Am Tournament 2009   

Elmcrest Country Club hosted its annual Tennis Pro-Am Tournament on Friday, August 21st through Sunday, August 23rd. Proceeds from this high-energy event directly benefited the Alzheimer’s Association East Central Iowa Chapter. The Pro-Am is a long time established event managed by the tennis staff and members of Elmcrest Country Club, and as of 2008 the Alzheimer’s Association was named the beneficiary of this event.  This year over $8700 was raised and donated to support the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Friday evening’s activities drew crowds of over 200 people. Friday kicked off with a home-style cookout and the opening of the Silent Auction. The night really lit up as the crowd placed bets on their favorite doubles team with several fast past rounds of Jai Lai Doubles. Before the Live Auction began, the fast serve contest took place where local Pros served at rapid speeds in excess of 110 miles per hour.
