Our programs and services are made possible through the generosity and commitment of people like you. Consider leaving a legacy of support by making a planned gift to the Alzheimer's Association that allows you to combine your charitable giving goals with your estate and financial planning goals.
The Alzheimer's Association offers you a variety of planned giving arrangements, including charitable gift annuities, trusts and bequests.
- Charitable Gift Annuities
The Alzheimer's Association offers charitable gift annuities, which are simple contracts between a donor and a charity (such as the Alzheimer's Association), to pay the donor a fixed amount, usually quarterly, for the rest of his or her life, in exchange for an initial gift of $5,000 or more.
Gift annuities are easy to establish and offer a tax deduction at the time of the initial gift. In addition, a portion of the lifetime payments made to the annuitant may be tax-free. Gift annuities may be established for one or two annuitants and may be funded with cash or appreciated stock.
A bequest is to name the Alzheimer's Association East Central Iowa Chapter in your will. You do not need to rewrite your will, a simple amendment (codicil) will do. The essential language to be included in your will or codicil may read:
"I give, devise, and bequeath (indicate amount, percentage of estate, remainder or specific property) to the Alzheimer's Association East Central Iowa Chapter, Federal Exemption Number: 42-1333384."
An Alois member's annual gift of $1,000 to $10,000 sends a strong message of hope and commitment to the
millions of people affected by Alzheimer's. As a member of this elite family of donors, your contribution helps optimize
Alzheimer’s care and programs, pushes groundbreaking research forward and moves us closer to a world without Alzheimer's. As a Alois Society member, you become eligible to receive the following:
•Choice of one nationwide update (webinar)
•Certificate of Membership
•Invitation to chapter events and programs
•Invitation to donor recognition event
•NEW! Exclusive access to the Alois Society website
- Memorial Giving
A memorial gift may be given in honor of an individual who has passed away. Upon receipt of your gift, we will send a memorial card to the family of the deceased that does not specify the amount of the gift.
- Tribute Giving
A tribute gift is an opportunity to acknowledge a special occasion for family or friends such as a wedding anniversary or birthday. We will mark the occasion by sending a card to the person you designate that announces the gift but not the amount.
Workplace giving is a simple and effective way for employees to support the Alzheimer's Association mission. Your gift helps fund vital research, programs and services. No matter how small your contribution, your dollars add up to make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.
Many companies have matching gift programs that encourage employees to contribute to charity. Matched gifts enable you to increase your contribution to the Chapter. Ask your human resources department for a matching gift form.
If your workplace participates in United Way campaign, you can designate your pledge to the Alzheimer’s Association through United Way’s Donor Choice Program. Simply follow the instructions on your pledge card, or write in our name and address.
