The essentiALZ exam is an individual certification opportunity for direct care providers who have completed a training course recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association against five topic areas of the Dementia Care Practice Recommendations, the benchmark for quality care across the disease spectrum. If you have completed a recognized professional training program and have been provided with an essentiALZ certification exam enrollment code, you are eligible to take the essentiALZ certification exam.

The essentiALZ exam is an individual certification opportunity for direct care providers who have completed a training course recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association for meeting the Dementia Care Practice Recommendations. If you have completed a qualified training and your employer/trainer has provided you with an essentiALZ Enrollment Code, you are eligible to take the essentiALZ exam.

To access the essentiALZ exam, please complete the following steps:

Step 1. Obtain an essentiALZ Exam Enrollment Code from your training administrator. (sample: E2MRR601-73P9)

Step 2. Login to the Alzheimer’s Association Training and Education Center.

  • New Users: Create an account using your complete email address as your username (e.g.: my-name@company.com) and establish a password.
  • Existing Users: Enter the email address and password used for previous exam access.

*Passwords are case sensitive. Your password must be a minimum of 8 characters with at least one number and a special character (e.g., #,$,%).

Step 3. Enter your essentiALZ Exam Enrollment Code and launch essentiALZ Certification Exam.

Step 4. Receive a passing score of 90% or higher and print your essentiALZ certificate.
