Bruce Flechter recently retired from a career in banking as Vice President of First National Bank of America and in advertising as President of Advertising Company of America. Both Bruce's grandmother and father died of Alzheimer's. He moved to Augusta from Lansing, Michigan with his wife, Sue, in January 2006 and immediately got involved with the Alzheimer's Association. He was a committee chair and volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association's "Night to Remember" wine event, became co-chair for Memory Walk and a member of the board of directors. Bruce was elected chair of the Augusta regional board in February 2007 and is chair of the Inaugural Alzheimer's Founders Club dinner committee. He has also created a charitable trust in the name of his father and mother. Donations go to the Augusta Alzheimer's office for the caring closet and caregiver timeout.
Bruce is a volunteer with the Morris Museum of Art, a member of the Augusta Sailing Club and spends as much time as possible playing golf. Bruce has a son, daughter and three grandchildren.
