About us

The Alzheimer’s Association - Greater Michigan Chapter, founded in 1981, is a private, non-profit, voluntary health organization and one of over 70 chapters across the United States. The Greater Michigan Chapter is headquartered in Southfield, with regional offices in Alpena, Grand Rapids, Marquette, Midland and Traverse City and covers 60 counties. Services are available to more then 140,000 individuals and their families who have Alzheimer's disease or related dementias.

VISION: A world without Alzheimer's disease.

MISSION:
To eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

 

Financial information

The Greater Michigan Chapter is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, donor-supported organization. Programs and services are made possible through contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations. 78% of the funds raised by the chapter are used for programs, services and research efforts.
