Early-Stage Resources

Early-Stage Advisory Council

The purpose of the council is to:
  • Raise awareness about early-stage issues.
  • Inform the public about the work of the Chapter Act as a spokesperson for the media opportunities.
  • Advocate to increase funding for research and support programs.
  • Support the Chapter in providing the most appropriate services or people living with early-stage Alzheimer's disease or related dementias.

Early-Stage Social Club

This is a recreational program that promotes cognitive, physical and social well-being for individuals in the early stages of memory loss.  In-person assessment is required for participation.

Early-Stage Memory Loss Support Group

The Greater Michigan Chapter offers this support group for people in the early stage of Alzheimer's or related dementias. Their care partners, family members and/or friends are welcome to attend. This support group provides a supportive environment that promotes the sharing of thoughts, information and resources to facilitate participant's understanding of the diagnosis. Assessment is required for support group participation.

Art Program

The Greater Michigan Chapter Art Program is for people living with Alzheimer's disease, and other dementias, and their care partners.  This is a unique opportunity for individuals in the early and mid stage of the disease to create meaningful memories through art.

Living With Alzheimer's; For People with Alzheimer's

This is an interactive, three-part workshop where individuals with Alzheimer's disease and caregivers will have a chance to hear from others with a diagnosis of memory loss through recorded video vignettes and group discussion.  Call to register.
