Alzheimer’s Association Memories in the Making® is a creative art expression program for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. Even after people with dementia have lost the ability to use words, they are often able to express thoughts and emotions and to share memories through painting with watercolors. The experience offers an opportunity for the essence of who they are and what they care about to shine through. The artist names and creates their piece; making it their own creation and story. Pieces are selected from the workshops that have taken place throughout local facilities in the Quad Cities area. The artwork is then professionally framed and auctioned at the Memories in the Making Art Auction.

A night of fabulous hors d'oeuvres, musical entertainment by Ellis Kell, art show, silent auction, and live art auction. The paintings to be auctioned off during the live art auction, reflect the passion and interests of their creators, people in various stages of Alzheimer's. Bid on your favorite, unique painting and show support to those affected by the disease.
