About Professional Training
The Alzheimer's Association is committed to helping professionals improve their knowledge and skills, build stronger teams and deliver better care to people with dementia and their families. Training and education programs are geared to professionals working in both community-based and residential care settings. Our programs and meetings have been attended by activity professionals, administrators, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, CNAs and staff trainers. Many of our caregiver conferences also offer CEUs.

CARES® Online Dementia Care Training & Individual Certification Program
HealthCare Interactive, Inc. (HCI) who partners with the Alzheimer's Association with their CARES products, is addressing the growing national crisis of memory loss, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease by developing the most innovative set of training products for family members and professional caregivers available in the marketplace today. HCI's educational DVDs, CD-ROMs, and Web-based products are easy to use. Each requires only basic computer or DVD skills and can be used in the privacy of your home or work setting. essentiALZ™ Certification ProgramThe Alzheimer’s Association essentiALZ certification program is a convenient way for individuals to be recognized for learning quality dementia care practices. The essentiALZ program combines select HealthCare Interactive® CARES® online dementia care training with Alzheimer’s Association online certification exams. The essentiALZ program was developed to recognize the knowledge of any caregiver who fulfills the certification requirements, regardless of whether they are paid or unpaid for their care of people with dementia.
