Nationally presented by Genworth Financial and Platinum National Team sponsors Kindred Healthcare, Creative Memories, and Home Instead Senior Care, the annual Memory Walks drew crowds in the Great Plains Chapter as they MOVED to end Alzheimer's disease.The annual national fundraiser created awareness about who is affected, what happens as the disease progresses, and how families are coping with the effects of the disorder.  The chapter-wide walks promoted ACTION in advocacy, information about new drug therapy, and services that the Association provides.

The local chapter was supported by $5000 donations from The Landing at Williamsburg Village and also by Sigma Kappa UNL Alumni.  Walks in many of the communities we serve were supported by local businesses in their areas.  Final tallies ae still being done, but donations so far from all 22 walk sites total over $228,000.

Once again, we can not thank our donors and volunteers enough for their support and hours of service.  Without ALL of you in our chapter areas, the mission and goals of the Alzheimer's Association could never be reached.  We THANK YOU for your support!!!
