Memory Walk, nationally presented by Genworth Financial, is the Alzheimer's Association's signature nationwide fund-raising event. Each fall, tens of thousands of people walk together - including family members, friends, caregivers, community and business leaders - to help make a difference in the lives of people affected by Alzheimer's and to increase awareness of the disease and the courage of those facing its daily challenges.
Become part of the group of individuals, corporations and organizations that are proud to lead the fight against Alzheimer's disease. Enjoy entertainment, refreshments, and fun for the whole family.  Form a team or walk alone.  For more information, call 1-800-272-3900.

Why we must fight Alzheimer's disease…

• It is not a normal part of aging.
• It is a devastating disorder of the brain that impairs memory, thinking and behavior ultimately leading to death.
• It affects an estimated 5 million Americans, 100,000 Virginians and 21,000 in the Chapter service area alone.

The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk® is our national signature event and brings together family, friends, caregivers and concerned community members — who all want to make a difference. Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $200 million to help those battling Alzheimer's disease. Learn more about Memory Walk.

Start a team

Forming a team for the Memory Walk can enhance your experience and multiply your impact on the fight against Alzheimer's. Together, as a team, you are a force much greater than what you can accomplish alone.  You, your family, your friends or your company can help us raise much needed funds by forming a team of walkers.  Walking as a team allows you to pool resources and enthusiasm.  The official Memory Walk Team Captain Kit can help get you started.  Don't forget - All sponsorship and team-raised funds remain in our local community and are used to develop and maintain vital programs and services to those with Alzheimer's disease, their familites, and caregivers.
