| What do you picture when you think of "the face of Alzheimer's disease"? Most people believe that this disease affects just the elderly. However, those of us with firsthand experience know that it afftects children, grandchildren, infants, friends and entire communities. It is so important for people to realize that Alzheimer's disease and related disorders are not neatly encapsulated in a box labeled "elderly". This disease is far reaching and touches one in three people. Someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease every 70 seconds! Take a moment of your time to view this video and to get a glimpse of the true face of Alzheimer's disease. Click here to watch the video. This project is available to view in its entirety with ALL photos at the Alzheimer's Association’s facebook page, visit us on: If you are someone who cares for, works with, or in any way has been touched by this disease, please consider submitting your story for use in this project. All photos should be sent to karen.skelton@alz.org . |
